At Wordstock, I attended a panel discussion on the future of publishing. Russell Perreault of Random House said they were wondering about e-books eroding demand for printed books. He told about an e-book available for free on the Internet and Random House still sold 300,000 copies of the printed book for $9. This supports my theory that various forms of publishing (e-book, hardcover, paperback) work to promote each other.
