Marketing Tip

Like it or not, all of us are involved in sales. At Wordstock, the recent literary festival in Portland, I met a woman writing a young adult novel. She said, "I'm not interested in marketing it." (Then who will be?!) A common myth is that publishing houses will do all the marketing for you. Not true. Whether your book is published by a traditional publishing house or you self publish, you will need to market your book if it's going to sell.

Book Tip

Are you including pictures in your book? You may have heard the terms "high res" and "low res" tossed around. High resolution files (generally 300 dots per inch) are required by book manufacturers/printers while low resolution files (72 pixels per inch) are best for on-screen viewing.
